BDM Indexes for Australia and New Zealand

This contains over 140,000 records of marriages registered in South Australia under a compulsory registration system introduced in 1842. It has been compiled entirely from information extracted from the marriage registrations held by the South Australian Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Office. It includes all registrations up to the end of the year 1916. Information includes surname, given names, age and marital status of bride & groom, fathers name of bride & groom, date & place of marriage; registration district, book & page numbers plus some explanatory & supplementary information.
